Change your Thoughts, Change Yourself

Good afternoon and happy Monday!  I hope you are all having a great start to the week.  Thank you for reading my blog.  Today I am going to talk about how to change yourself by changing your thoughts.

Sue writes “How do we change the way we think?”  Well Sue, it is a challenging yet simple process that is very rewarding, since what we think and believe literally create our reality.  Our thoughts and beliefs are intertwined, and they determine the outcome of our life.  It we believe we are going to fail at something, then we will think negative thoughts about each thing we try, thereby creating situations that will fail us.  We sabotage ourselves with negative thoughts, reinforcing the belief that we were destined to fail.  If we believe we are going to succeed, then we think optimistic thoughts that make us confident, thereby creating situations that will create success for us.  We reward ourselves, reinforcing the belief that we will succeed.

Sometimes in life things happen to throw us into a downward spiral.  I call it hitting quicksand.  No matter how hard we try, no matter how much effort we exert, we seem to come up against roadblocks and obstacles.  Everything happens for a reason, and so when you find yourself in this situation, the first step is to recognize what is happening.  If we are so caught up in the struggle to hold on to what we have got, we can miss the bigger picture which may be telling us that it is time to naturally move on in life.  If we don’t take a moment to stop struggling – which is hard because it is counter intuitive for us – then we can miss out on an opportunity to make changes more easily.  Worse yet, we may miss out on understanding why things are happening to us, and remain locked in self restrictive patterns.

Meditating can help us to get in touch with this higher divine wisdom and apply it to our lives.  The first step is to apply this practice if you are not already.  If you never stop to evaluate your situation from a spiritual perspective you are going to struggle harder than you need to in your life lessons.  Once you have begun to meditate, and opened your mind to help from a higher source, then you are ready to make changes in your life that are exciting and fun.  You can affect your outcomes in marvelous ways by taking what you learn through meditation and changing the way you think.  It is not the easiest process in the world, but it is possible.  It just takes commitment and practice.

Most of us think the same thoughts each day.  Over and over again.  We are capable of processing millions of pieces of information per second: eleven million, to be precise.  We only aware of a fraction of this information, but it is there, streaming back and forth through our head all day long.  Every time we take a set of information and make a judgement based on the information, we create a belief in our head.  We can change these beliefs by purposefully changing the way we think using intentional language, or affirmations.  Every time we say something, or think something, those words carry a command to our brain that has power to affect our reality. So if we tell ourselves over and over again “I will succeed” eventually you will come to believe that command as part of your reality.  Your reality will become an expectation of success.

You will automatically seek out and find success in your life.  You will be guided to your true desires, by understanding in new ways how to go about getting your work done more effectively and efficiently.  You will begin to see the world as an array of opportunities that exist in a state of potential and possibility.  How do you know if you are there yet?  If you are trying to change your thoughts to get yourself out of a negative mindset, and you are using affirmations every day all day long, then re-read the first three sentences of this paragraph regularly.  Write them down on an index card and carry it around with you.  As you change, the meaning of the words change, and when the magic happens you will see it for your own eyes.  Unfortunately, I cannot explain it much better because it is an experience you have to have for yourself.  I can tell you that if you haven’t had it, then you need to keep working at it, and not to give up.  You are the master of your brain, and you determine what happens in your life.  Don’t let your reality be determined by a set of beliefs you may not even like or really believe.

When you begin to change, you will see everything differently.  What you read, what you see, what you hear, your interactions with others – all this information will begin to be processed in a different way, creating new understandings for you.  As you change, once you have made the realization that you are in fact changing, you will also realize that it is easier to make changes intentionally.  In fact, you will begin to prefer this as to just drifting along.  It is like the difference between cable and netflix.  With cable, you are just given the shows and commercials to watch.  With netflix, you have to stop and ask yourself “What do I want to watch?”  The question can be a little overwhelming at first.  Ask yourself “What do I want to think?” instead of just following a random stream.

Now a word about your brain and thoughts.  You brain retrieves information by association and popularity – making it a lot like a google search.  Each time you think of something, say for example the color ‘blue’ – your brain instantly pulls up all of the associated information.  All of it.  Every memory, every idea, every belief, anything inside that organic matrix of ours related to the color blue is pulled up, and it is sorted by how often we use the information and how strongly we believe in the truth of the information.  When we think an association of information together, we reinforce the connection, so that when we think of ourselves if we think a word like ‘happy’ or ‘smoker’ or ‘broke’ each different word pulls up a new set of information that connects to the first like a lego.  But thoughts are sticky, like a post it, and they can be re-arranged.

Let’s look at ‘smoker’.  If you are trying to quit smoking, then you are likely ultra-aware of this habit in your life and the fact you need to quit.  If when you think of yourself, you think ‘I am a smoker’, you are re-enforcing that belief that you smoke.  You may also notice that they stream of thoughts following this leads you to a series of images and memories about smoking.  Well try this.  When you think of yourself and you catch the thought ‘I am a smoker’ then quickly say ‘I don’t smoker anymore’, or ‘I am a non-smoker’.  Even if you don’t believe the words, say them in your head or even aloud if able (without people thinking you are nanners) with conviction. Re-enforce the message by purposefully thinking of something you are doing to quit smoking, like cutting down or walking.  Or even just imagine yourself happy and smiling with no cigarette in your mouth.  Eventually you will believe this, but the key – THE KEY – is repetition and commitment.  Commitment to repeating this new belief each time you catch the old one until you begin to feel the change.  You will know when it happens.

You can use this process to change anything about yourself.  You can change your entire life, to make your self more successful, more happy, more healthy, more anything.  Like I said, the trick is to be committed and to follow through.  As you feel different, your habits will change.  Watch for these changes, support them, and encourage them.  These are your new reality coming about.  As you change you will see opportunities you didn’t see before, even if they were right in front of you.  Watch for these opportunities and take advantage of them.  You will find that as you do you begin to automatically watch for new opportunities.  Do not be afraid to try something different, because change doesn’t happen unless you change.

Dear John: Forgiveness, Change, Love, and a New Way

Good morning!  Happy Friday.  I hope you have all had a good week, and have fun plans for the weekend.  Thank you for reading my blog, today I am responding to John.  I hope that these words find and help all that need them.

John writes “Recently I broke up with my girlfriend.  I feel really bad, and I would like to get her back, but I don’t know where to start.  Right now everything just seems like a mess.  Any time I try to talk to her everything sounds desperate and weird, and I am making things worse not better.  What do I do?”

Dear John, thank you for your words, this is a common topic.  The first thing I would say is, to stop all communication for now.  Your instincts are usually right, and if you feel like you are making things worse, you probably are.  You intentions may be good, but you are in a situation where everything is broken right now, and if you try to run something that is broken, it just breaks worse.  I know when something happens to us we want to fix it right now, but sometimes you just can’t do anything about it in the moment.  The good news is, you can do something about yourself to make your life better.

I would start by taking the time to meditate on your relationship.  Reflect on your time together.  Don’t try to call up memories, or dwell on your mistakes.  Just relax your mind using your meditation tools.  Let your mind walk through the memories, and make note of anything that pops out to you.  Were there times you took her for granted?  Were there habits or hobbies that got in the way of time together?  As these events unfold in your head, try to look at things from her perspective.  Try to imagine what she must have thought and felt being your girlfriend.

Don’t be hard on yourself.  Beating yourself up only makes things worse.  If there are things you did or did not do that hurt the relationship, make a note of these.  In your private time, you can write a letter about what you wish you had done differently and asking forgiveness.  Or, if you do not want to write about it, you can just go sit somewhere alone outside and talk about it.  The important thing is to recognize when and where you could have done something differently, acknowledge that moment, and talk about it to get it out of your head.  You have to process the emotions that are already in you to make room for healing and improvement.  (if you are constantly thinking about what you did wrong, how can you think about how to make yourself better?)   Be loving with yourself.

When we realize that what we are and what we have done has caused injury to someone we love and made them distance themselves from us, this causes profound sadness and pin.  But every emotion serves a purpose, and so these are signals to our selves that we are out of alignment with what we want, and what we are.  But we can change, and that is the best blessing of them all.  When you have an experience like this, it is a great opportunity for personal growth and healing.  You can take the work you do here and apply it to your whole life leading up to this moment.  Chances are there are other events in your life that need attention and healing.

How do we change?  When we want to be different, we have to look outside of our circle of life.  What we have is not serving what we want.  One effective way to make change is to look for models.  Is there someone you know of or have met that has what you want?  If so, think about what you know of them.  What do they do?  How do they act?  Try to imagine yourself as that person, and then ask yourself what do I have to do to become more like them?  The answers will come if you seek them.  You don’t have to push too hard, just be consistent and persistent.  This process takes time most of all, and so it takes a lot of patience, trust, and faith. It is normal to want everything fixed right now, but that is not going to happen, so accept it and settle in for a long but rewarding trip.  The work you do now is going to change your life for the better – forever.

When I say to use a model that gives us tools to work on from the outside, and these are invaluable.  At the same time, this is going to be an inside job.  You have to change yourself from the inside out.  If you put a fresh coat of paint on a broken down house, it might look good for a while, but it is still broken down.  You must address what is needing repair on the inside, and do that work, in order to truly restore that house.  I would strongly recommend spiritual work.  When we connect with God and the angels we get divine information and wisdom about ourselves that is true and so can be relied upon to establish a new solid base on which to build a new life.  Be brave, be honest, and don’t be afraid.

Courage to face yourself openly and honestly is the key to making change in your life.  We may not like what we see when we look at ourselves openly and honestly.  And that is okay, it is a normal healthy response.  It means you want to change.  It is a good thing.  Be prepared when you have these realizations for moments of intense sadness.  Do not be deterred by these or put off your work by them.  They WILL pass!  It is like an emotional sprain.  If you sit with it, acknowledge it, and make a commitment to change, the pain will subside.  I promise.  You can ask your angels to take your sadness and change it to love for you, and they will always come to your aid to do this.  Have faith in the process, be diligent, and don’t give up.

Change is a tough process, and it is going to tire you out.  Make sure you are taking care of your body at this time.  Let go of any habits that are not serving you positively.  Start some sort of exercise regimen.  Walking is good for you, and it is easy to do.  Make sure you are drinking plenty of water, taking plenty of vitamins and minerals, eating a balanced diet and getting plenty of rest.  Sometimes we may only have one revelation or change in a day, and that may not seem like a lot in conventional wisdom.  But it is a lot to your psyche.  Change puts stress on a system.  When you take off in an airplane if you tried to go right to 20,000 feet you would tear the wings off and crash.  You are the same way.  Be steadfast, keep moving forward, keep moving up, and don’t try to  go to high to fast.  You will only hurt yourself.

I know you are in a hurry to fix everything at once.  Take heart that once you make a commitment to change yourself, once you take that first step and say “I am not going to repeat the same patterns that got me here anymore” your journey has begun.  Take heart that as you stick to your process, change brings more change.  What we feed we breed.  As you get healthier you will have a new perspective of yourself.  You will have a healthier outlook, happier thoughts, and you will feel better.  You will find too that as you change, your perspective of everything will change too.  Movies, books, tv, people – everything will resonate in a new way.  This is a sign that you are getting a new perspective on life, and you are finding a new way.

Now as far as your relationship goes, I would say, the best thing to do is ask God to guide you.  If you truly want to be with this person, ask God to heal you and heal your love. Do not be afraid to ask some tough questions like “Is this person good for me?”  and even tougher “I am good for this person?”  Remember that everything happens for a reason.  We are all here to learn and grow, and we do that through our relationships.  The more you focus internally on yourself, the more loving and forgiving you are, the more optimistic you are, the better the changes you will have.  Healing will come swiftly if you are steadfast, confident, and cheerful.

People will notice you are changing too.  Don’t be surprised if they ask questions or make comments.  This too is a good sign, it means you are making progress.  Not only are you healing yourself, you are helping the people around you as a role model.  And no matter what happens in your relationship, at some point in the future you will be able to help someone else through the same problem, and that is a truly rewarding experience.  I wish you the best of luck on your journey.  Remember to pray, meditate, be loving, diligent, steadfast and most of all have faith in the process and confidence in your ability to change.  You can do it!

Helping Addicts

Good morning!  I hope your weekend is off to a good start.  If you are working, don’t work too hard, and if you are off, make sure you have some fun today!  Thank you for reading my blog.  Today I am talking about helping the addicts among us.

Almost all of us have been affected by addiction.  Either directly or indirectly, we have all either dealt with addiction ourselves, had a loved one that is addicted, or know of someone that is dealing with these issues.  Addiction rates are on the rise right now.  Many people are suffering, and turning to drugs for self medication.  You may feel powerless over this phenomenon, but you are not.  There is much you can do to help.

When someone becomes addicted we lose touch with that person, often gradually.  They can be in our midst and unable to be reached.  They might also be so swept away in their addiction they actually physically leave our lives.  Both scenarios are painful.  Both leave loved ones mystified, hurt, and feeling powerless to help.  Truly, addiction is a powerful force and it wreaks havoc on lives.  But it is something that can be fought with tools you can use that are at your disposal twenty four hours a day.

When you have lost touch with someone through addiction, one of the most powerful tools at your disposal is prayer.  Since you may not directly connect to or get through to the person affected, prayer is an effective and worthy practice that will help both your addicted love one, yourself, other addicts, and the world in general.  Prayer is a tool you can use to help your loved one from afar.  God hears your prayers, and every time you pray for your loved one it sends out a loving energy toward them.  Even just one prayer from one person can have a dramatic change in someone’s life.

Since you are dealing with a dire situation when you are combating the powers of addiction, it is advisable to consider the use of continual prayer.  When I say continual prayer, what I mean is, each time you think of the situation at hand, say a prayer to God for your loved one.  Ask God to send his angels to protect and guide them to safety.  Ask God to send divine wisdom and guidance to your loved one, that they may have a moment of clarity and truth leading to a change of heart.

When you think of your loved one, instead of imagining them as they might be at the moment, visualize them happy and healthy in your head, with a glow of bright light around them.  Imagine them standing in your home with you, safe and sound, holding hands with you.  Imagine hugging them and giving them love and warmth.  Imagine them making wise choices, and coming home.  Our imagination is a powerful tool.  What we visualize often becomes reality, all the more so the more we use focus on our desired result.  Take advantage of this tool.

Since you are dealing with a dire situation, it is advisable to set aside a certain amount of time each day to pray, meditate, and reflect on your situation.  Intentional focus of thought in this way will help to bring about a favorable result.  You may want to ask God to bring you into touch with others who are suffering the same plight, so that you may join forces and work together.  There is strength in numbers, and when people pray together for a common outcome, the energy going toward that desired result is increased which increased the favorable odds of your desired goal.

You will find too that prayer will help you heal in your own life.  If you do not know what to say, then just talk to God.  Tell God what is going on, how you are feeling, what is wrong and what you would like to have happen.  Ask God to remove the sorrow and fear from your heart  so you can be more effective.  When you are done praying, meditate for a time to give God a chance to answer you.  Keep practicing this throughout the day, on a daily basis, and your communication with God will become more clear.  You will gain insights for things to pray for about the situation that never occurred to you before.  You will be given guidance for things you can do to help the situation, both for your addicted love one, and for yourself.

Above all, pray for yourself that you can remain bright and optimistic about a favorable outcome.  Positive energy attracts positive results.  I know, this sounds crazy, because when we are in dire straights with a difficult situation like addiction, it is sad and we want to be sad.  But sadness only gives way to more sadness.  Feel your sorrow, recognize and acknowledge your emotion.  Cry, and then look for a way to help.  Do whatever you can to occupy yourself in a productive manner.  Sorrow will return, and when it does, just repeat the process.  Acknowledge your feelings, cry, and look for a way back to being positive.  We have the power to affect great changes in the world around us.

What we think, what we believe, what we do, these things all create our reality.  So you are not totally powerless at all.  In fact, when you call on the power of God to help you, you have got the almighty at your back.  That is some powerful back up.  God wants you to call on him for help, so don’t wait.  Call on him today, use the tool of prayer, and you will be amazed at the powerful results.

Men: Listen to your Love

Hello, I hope you all had a great and productive week!  If this is your Friday, happy Friday and welcome to the weekend.  If you are in the middle of your week, well then you are half way to your weekend!  Always look at the bright side.  Thank you reading my blog.  Today I am talking to Men about the special Woman in their lives.

Men, I am talking to you today about your Woman, your love, your treasure.  I know from listening to a lot of people the troubles people have in the their relationships.  One of the common common complaints from Women is “He never listens to me.”  Well none of us is given a handbook on how have the perfect relationship, and as far as communication skills go, many of us were not taught effective communication – which includes listening – skills when we were young.  I am here to help you with some simple tools like active listening, simple surprises, and of course, meditation.

Men, one of the best things you can ever do to enrich your relationship with the special Woman in your life is to listen.  All of us like to be acknowledged, it makes us feel validated and worthy.  As men we are not so much “in” to talking.  Many of us  use very few words.  In fact, I can take a five hour trip with my dad, and if we say ten words the whole time, that was still good bonding time.  We are just quieter and less communicative by nature.  So we need to work at listening, and I am here to tell you that it is not as hard as it might sound to listen effectively.

Effective active listening means devoting your attention to the person that is speaking.  That means focusing on the person while they are talking and looking them in the eye.  In order to do this, put away any distractions like your phone.  Move to a room free of distractions like the tv.  Try going somewhere you do not normally sit together, and ask your Woman how her day was.  Pay attention to what she is saying, and at the appropriate times in the conversation, affirm what she is saying.  Try not to think about your day, or the game, or your bills.  Just clear your head and listen.

Try to make this the first interaction you have with your Woman when you walk through the door.  We always remember the first and the last, so she will remember the first thing you did when you came home was listen to her.  If you are coming home from a busy or hectic day, stop somewhere on the way home to relax (not the bar).  Find someplace like a park with open space and something pretty to look at.  Use your meditation skills to clear your head.  Take several deep breaths, and relax.  Plan your entrance into the house.  Imagine your love, visualize giving her a hug and walking her to sit down, and hear your words asking her how her day was.

You will be amazed at how much this simple act will deepen and strengthen your relationship.  Your validation of her is one of the most precious gifts you can give your Woman.  Plus you will find that it does not take much time.  Often when we are not in habit of listening, it seems like the person talking to us is going on forever, but in reality, they are not.  We are uncomfortable because we are not in the habit of listening, and most likely if you are agitated, it is because you are carrying something with you from the day that is stressing you out.  Your mind is still running problems from the day.  Use your skills, stop to relax on the way home, and try this simple act.

You will  find that it will improve your outlook on life too.  There is a reason married men live longer.  Women are wise, compassionate, and caring.  You Woman loves you and wants the best for you.  Listen to what she says, consider her advice, and when she asks you to do something, make a note to do it and tell her when you will get it done, and follow through on what you say.  Nurture her with love and attention, validate her, and watch her blossom.  It is one of the most beautiful and rewarding experiences you can have in a relationship.  And the best part is, it is free!  It costs us nothing to listen.

Now, one more thing you can do to help your relationship to bloom, is to surprise your Woman with simple little acts of love.  Look for opportunities to take her by surprise to show your love.  Make cocoa with little marshmallows in it and sit on the deck.  Get up with her in the morning when she is going to work and make her coffee.  Make her a snack.  Clean something without being asked or told.  Don’t expect to be rewarded for that last one and don’t be upset if she doesn’t say anything.  She notices, trust me.  She watches everything you do.  Wait for her to say something, and then be humble and loving in your response.

I work in business development.  One of the things I tell people to do while they are in business is to imagine what their lives will be like when the business is gone.  In that moment, when you are thinking of what it is like afterward, I tell them to imagine all the things they would tell themselves that they wished they had tried while the business was still theirs.  And I tell them to MAKE IT HAPPEN.  Don’t wait to do tomorrow what you can do today.

With your loved ones, ESPECIALLY with your Woman, treat her as if it is the last day on Earth.  Always kiss her, always hug her, always hold her hand, always do anything you can to enrich your time together.  Listen to her.  Care about what she has to say.  There are no guarantees in life, and the last thing you want is to look back on your time together with regret for not having done something you could have or should have.  Imagine your life without her – how does it feel?  What do you wish you had done differently?  Meditate on this, and listen for the answers, and when they come to you, do not delay.  Show her you care and do what you can today.

It is the little things that count when it comes to making a relationship special.  One of the best little things you can do, is listen.  Start there and work your way outward and upward to doing every little thing you can, as often as you can.  You will both be the better for it.  Just try it and see.

Hello!  I hope you are having a great week, and looking forward to a great weekend.  Thank you for reading my blog.  Today I want to talk to you about Miracles!

What is a miracle?  Wikipedia calls a miracle ‘an event not explicable by natural or scientific laws’.  Often miracles are attributed to God.  Many of us may think of a miracle as an event like Jesus walking on water, or Moses parting the sea.  But I am here to tell you that miracles happen every day, big and small.  If we look for them, we can see them.  Part of meditating is bringing ourselves into alignment with the divine so that we are better in tune with the miracles that happen every day in our life.

By quieting our minds, we are better able to receive the wisdom of the angels and God.  When we do so, when we practice shutting out the noise of the outside world, we are able to look back on our lives and see events where things happened in our favor that are hard to explain.  Sometimes it is a cab being in the right place at the right time, when it made no sense.  It may be a phone call that comes just when you are thinking of that person.  Or perhaps someone smiles at you at just the right time, or tells you just what you needed to hear, when you needed to hear it.

I have heard all  sorts of tales of miracles, some mundane, some truly strange.  One person was out partying one night, and on the the way home encountered a man sitting on the outside of freeway overpass, ready to jump.  That person was able to talk the man out of jumping, and so bought him another day.  One person told me that they really needed a cigarette.  Upon walking along they came across a freshly lit cigarette, laying on the ground right in front of them, with no way or how for someone else to have laid it there.  Strange indeed.  I am not suggesting that God or the angels advocate smoking, but they do know what we need direly when we need it, and love us enough to help provide what we need most when we need it.

In both cases, the people involved in the miracles were forever changed in their relationship to God.  Faith was born into their lives, and I am happy to say that in the case of the latter that person eventually quit smoking.  God is gentle, and caring, with a knack for being subtly sublime at just the right time to have a dramatic impact on our hearts and our lives.  Nothing happens by mistake in this world, everything has a meaning.  God knows exactly when and how to impact us in a powerful way.

Sometimes it may seem as though we are so beset with difficulty that a miracle will never happen.  Sometimes we go for long stretches in our lives where drudgery is the norm, and our problems persist.  But God gives us these challenges so we will turn to him in our hour of need.  If you look closely at your life, you may see the miracles that have already occurred.  The neat thing about miracles is, when you acknowledge them and give thanks for them, more will occur.  Moreover, you can ask God for a miracle.  A miracle is divine intervention in our lives, and God is more than willing to help.  We just have to ask for help.  Sometimes we have to ask more than once, and that is okay too.

Repetitive prayer is a ritual of many traditions, and it is healthy.  Prayer and meditation give us divine wisdom.  If we ask for something and it does not come to pass, then perhaps it is not the best path for you.  Upon reflection, if you have not received what you asked for, if you ask for guidance and meditate for the answer, then you will be given the divine wisdom of your true path.  Truth is good, and healthy, and will set you on your true path.  That is also a miracle!  In fact, every time we are given wisdom, that is a miracle, because it brings us closer to God and our true purpose on Earth.

Another miracle waiting for you is communion with God and the angels.  The more you ask for help, the more you meditate for the answers, the more you take action on the wisdom you are given, the more often and easier it becomes to talk to God and get help.  This is a great miracle!  For without Gods help, we are truly blind and wandering in a fog of confusion.  How much easier it is to have the help and guidance to know what is a better answer for us.  How much happier we are when we are set on a course that is in alignment with our true purpose.  How much less we have to struggle.

Now a word about miracles and Gods help.  Sometimes, when we ask for something in our lives, what happens is that everything may seem to start going wrong.  This is not a bad thing, this is God showing you the changes you need to make in your life in order to have what you truly want.  If you keep meditating, and keep asking for help, you will be shown the way one step at a time.  God will help you through the most challenging times of your life.  God wants what is good for you, and God wants for you not to struggle needlessly.  It is up to us to do the work and figure it out.  If you ask for the guidance to make the choices best for you, the answers will always come.  If you listen.

A word about struggle:  If you are having a hard time in your life, if you are pursuing a project that is not going anywhere no matter how hard you try, then that is a clear signal to look closely at your life and ask for some guidance.  When you are pursuing your true purpose in life, events will flow more easily in your life.  That is one way you can tell when you are on the right path.  When we are doing something that is not the right path, or is not the best path for us, then the road is nearly impossible.  It is impassable, no matter how hard we try, no matter how much effort we put in to the work.  We toil, and we struggle, to no avail.  This is a clue to seek guidance for a better path.

Struggle is not to be confused with hard work, however.  Often times when we are on the right path, we have to work hard.  Hard work is a valuable practice, it strengthens our character and often provides a solid foundation on which to build our successes.  This is always that case when we work in cooperation with God.  The path God shows you may be long, and may have much hard work involved, but it will yield long term benefits in your life.  Do not shy away from hard work.  Seek your truth, ask God for help, and work diligently toward your true purpose, and you will always reap rewards.

So pray on miracles.  Ask God to show you the miracles in your life.  The next time you meditate, listen to what you are told, and you will be shown the countless times you have been helped, and the ways you have helped other people.  We are all in this together, and you too have played the role of a miracle in another persons life, for sure.  The more you seek the wisdom, the more you take action on what you are shown, the more help you will receive, and the easier your life will be to navigate!  What a miracle!

Healing Your Body

Good morning!  I hope you are having a nice start to the week.  Thank you for reading my blog.  Recently I am aware of some people that are having health issues in their lives, and so I am going to talk to you about healing your body.

God has given us a great gift in the human body.  Our bodies are designed to heal.  If they were not, broken bones would not set and we would not fight off colds.  Occasionally we are beset with serious health issues that overwhelm us and seem as though our lives are ruined.  Our body may be able to fix some of these issues if given the proper chance.  Our diets today are so heavy and over loaded with chemicals that the body is so busy digesting food and breaking down chemicals, it never has a chance to get to repairing more serious issues at hand.  There are measures you can take to try and help your body repair more serious issues.

First let me talk a little bit about our diet today and why it hurts our body.  We consume a LOT of sodium, sugar, caffeine, alcohol and a multitude of chemicals that all take a toll on our liver and our bodies ability to heal itself.

Sodium as we use it in our food today is extremely out of balance.  Natural salt contains every mineral your body needs to function properly, whereas common sodium and table salt have been stripped of nearly every mineral except sodium chloride.  Sodium causes bloating, raises our blood pressure, and places excessive strain on our kidneys.

Sugar is hard on your body as well.  Eating a little bit of sugar is okay if you are  healthy, but when I say a little bit I mean a teaspoon or two.  Globally our sugar consumption is off the charts, and so it is not just chance that health problems are on the rise.  Sugar shuts down your immune system, hurts your heart, and saps brain power.

Whereas caffeine has been shown to have health benefits, like anything, when consumed in excess it is bad for you.  Caffeine is addictive, and so it can be easy to use too much, and difficult to cut back once you realize you are having too much.  Too much caffeine robs your body of water and key nutrients like vitamin C.

Alcohol such as wine consumed in moderate amounts has been shown to have a positive affect on our body.  Hard alcohol and beer take a clear toll (as does drinking wine or any other alcohol to excess).  Drinking to excess just once dehydrates your body terribly.  The high sugar content shuts down your immune system, and your blood pressure can be raised for as long as one whole week.

And there are a whole host of additives and preservatives in our prepared foods today that linger in our body causing damage.  What happens in that, as I mentioned before, your system is so busy trying to detoxify itself, it never has a chance to address more serious issues.  Which it will, given the proper diet and nutrients.

The first thing to do is to get the poisons out of your system and get your diet under control.  The body does not need as much food as we are led to believe in order to survive.  Your stomach is only about the size of your fist.  It will stretch to accommodate more food, but this is taxing your system.  You must get your portion sizes under control, and eat a healthy diet with plenty of natural foods.  Try to avoid prepared, boxed food with lots of sodium.

Assuming you have an issue you want to address, there are two things you have to do in order to allow your body to repair itself. First you need to detoxify your body and second you need to nourish your body with nutrients.

You must get the chemicals out of your system.  That means, all the sodium, all the sugar, most of the caffeine and for at least several weeks, all of the alcohol.  Fasting is the easiest quickest way to clean your body.  Keep in mind, this is a challenging process.  When you remove these substances from your body you may experience headaches and changes in bowel patterns, but these will correct themselves as your body cleans itself out.

Since most of you have probably never fasted, I would recommend using brewers yeast, lecithin, and himalayan mountain salt.  Take these three items and mix them together to drink three times a day.  Serving sizes are provided on the side of the brewers yeast and lecithin containers.  I would use a tablespoon of the himalayan mountain salt (if you cannot get himalayan mountain salt, sea salt will do however try to get this from a bulk food section, as most prepared sea salts have yellow prussiate in them as an anti-flaking agent.  This is a highly toxic substance).

Now when you are fasting, the first two days are the most challenging.  After that the hunger urges are less severe, and since you are drinking nutrients, your body will not be in a state of shock for calories.  Ten days is usually sufficient to clear your body of most toxic build up.  You will notice on or about the seventh day your body will pass a particularly noxious stool, this is the effluent and chemicals built up in your system being released.  I know that is gross, but it is an important sign to watch for.

Make sure you are drinking lots of water. Adding lemon to your water helps your liver to break down toxins and process excess body fat.

There are additional things you can use to help cleanse your body.  Look for liquid bentonite to take along with your fasting regimen.  Bentonite is a clay that is electrically charged the opposite of toxins.  So like a positive to a negative magnet, it locks on to the toxins permanently bonding with them so they can be passed out of your system preventing any further harm.  Bentonite will bond with any kind of poison that should not be in body.  Be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN to follow the directions, however, since it can cause constipation in too large a  dose.

Don’t forget to use meditation and prayer as tools to help you heal yourself.  When you are meditating on your health, in fact, whenever you think of your health issue, imagine yourself healthy and happy running around.  Or performing whatever movement or exercise you are trying to restore.  How we visualize ourselves is how we shape ourselves.  Be certain to use this as you are healing yourself, as this is one of the mysteries of the universe that works miracles.

Like prayer.  Be sure to talk to God about your situation, and ask him to help you with    whatever you are doing.  Ask him to help you make lifestyle changes.  Ask him to help you with and guide you on your fast.  Ask him for guidance in general.  When meditating on, during, or after your prayer, pay close attention to ideas or images that pop in to your head.  These are either the answers to or guidance to the answers to your prayers.  Remember, God is all powerful but we are what give him hands in the world.  It is always up to us to put in the proper work and effort to make changes.

In my time I have had to deal with sleep apnea, weight gain and crippled joints.  At one time I was so overweight it was very disturbing, I was knocking on 300 pounds.  I used fasting, natural medicine, and prayer to heal myself, and it worked.  Today I have a healthy athletic body that is free from chronic pain.  My sleep apnea has been gone for well over two years.  My hips are healed and my back pain, which I thought would never leave me, is completely gone.  What a miracle!  All of these are permanent healings, that I do not have to worry about anymore.  You can have this too.  It is simple and easy, but challenging and so it is also hard work.

The Power of Prayer, how to Hear God

Good morning!  Happy Monday.  I hope you all had a good weekend, and are having a great start to the week.  It is going to be a beautiful  day.  Thank you for reading my blog.

I am going to talk to you today about the power of prayer in your life.  Prayer is very powerful, because when you pray you are talking to God the almighty.  God only deals in truth, and truth is indestructible.  When you pray to God the answer you get in your life is true, and so may be relied upon completely.  When you base your actions in truth, you will always be guided on a course of action that serves your perfectly.

When we are feeling confused God’s word will guide us.  When we are unsure of the right choice to make, God will let you know what is best for you.  When you are sad, angry, or fearful, you can ask God to remove these feelings from you and replace them with love.  God hears all our prayers and God will always respond in kind.  But we are given free will and so we have to take the first step.  We have to open a conversation with God and ask him for what we want.

How do we hear God?  Through meditation.  Prayer is what we say to God, and what God says to us may be heard when we are meditating. God’s word is mighty and true but softly spoken.  God will not yell over the noise in your life, and so to hear God you must seek his voice in the still quiet space of your mind.  You must meditate and quiet your mind to hear the answer to your prayer.  The answer will always be there.

If you are having trouble hearing the answer to your prayer, pray to God about that.  Ask God for help.  Remember to practice your mediation regularly, and be open to the truth.  Pray as much as want, God wants to hear from you.  God wants you to be happy, and God wants to help you.  All you have to do is ask.
